First Call – aims to provide short-term practical and emotional support at home for up to 8 weeks helping people regain their independence.

Care & Repair Northamptonshire
Provides a range of measures for vulnerable householders, regardless of tenure of property, including:
- Handyman, small plumbing works, home security works, keysafes
- Domestic abuse measures including specialist sanctuary rooms
- Minor adaptations and falls prevention, including grab rails and ramps
- Child home safety measures including
- Warm at Home service (inc repairs, draught exclusion, secondary glazing)
- Garden clearance and fencing, removal of unwanted household items
All technicians are employed by us, are DBS checked, wear uniform, carry ID and drive company vans. We do not charge for assessments of work and customers are provided with a written quotation to accept prior to work commencing. We are registered with Trading Standards.
- Charge – subsidised rate of £15.00 ph plus VAT and cost of materials
- Hardship Fund – for those most in need to fund essential works.
- Warm at Home Service – FREE of charge to those eligible
- Child Home Safety project – FREE of charge to those eligible
- We also carry out works on behalf of partners across the county where other charges apply

- Free training and education courses: A wide range of accredited and non-accredited courses to support people into employment or just to improve their quality of life.
- Furniture Re-cycling Charity shop (Newland St): In partnership with Kettering Borough council, and many other agencies and businesses, providing low-cost furniture and household goods to those in need.
- Foodbank services: Providing food parcels to fourteen different partners who are authorised to issue food to those in need.

Education courses are free to those on benefits.

Kettering Foodbank
Based at the Praise Community Church, 3 Alexandra St, Kettering
- The foodbank helps those in food poverty, overcome a short-term crisis.
- We provide tinned and dried food sufficient for three days, together with bread, fresh fruit and vegetables when available.
- We try to sign post individuals to agencies that may be able to assist with any additional needs.
Eligibility
Every prospective client is interviewed to establish his or her situation and where possible supporting evidence maybe required. Many clients are referred by recognised agencies who are already helping individuals overcome their crisis. We aim to help wherever possible, however we do limit parcels to three in any six-month period.

Eligibility
Available to the elderly people and carers, people with disabilities and their carers who live in Desborough, Rothwell, Kettering, Stoke Albany, Rushton, Wilbarston and surrounding villages/areas.
These services will be normally provided to individuals who meet one or more of the following criteria:
- Disability, chronic sickness and/or dementia
- Require help to meet their basic physical, psychological or social needs
- Without these services their condition is likely to deteriorate
- Without these services the capacity of their carer’s to meet their needs will be damaged or may deteriorate
- Without these services the person may require residential/nursing care.

Referrals can be made by the tenant, their landlord or management agent, or other supporting agencies, providing the tenant agrees.
Further Information
- An appointment will be arranged which will include an introduction to the service and to determine how the support can be offered to a tenant.
- Appointments thereafter will be arranged either at the tenant’s home address or at the council offices, depending on the circumstances.
- The service offers a friendly and direct approach helping tenants to achieve sustainment of a tenancy and the confidence to be independent in the future.

Free and confidential service for victims, witnesses or anyone affected by crime living in Northamptonshire including:
- Victims and witnesses (adults)
- Children and young people (specialist therapeutic services)
Individuals do not have to report the crime to receive support. Our support can be emotional or practical. It is available to anyone suffering from any type of crime (including domestic abuse, historical crimes, sexual violence), no matter when and where the crime took place. Support can be face-to-face or over the telephone.

Anyone living in Northamptonshire. Crime does not have to be reported.
