Care & Repair Northamptonshire
Provides a range of measures for vulnerable householders, regardless of tenure of property, including:
- Handyman, small plumbing works, home security works, keysafes
- Domestic abuse measures including specialist sanctuary rooms
- Minor adaptations and falls prevention, including grab rails and ramps
- Child home safety measures including
- Warm at Home service (inc repairs, draught exclusion, secondary glazing)
- Garden clearance and fencing, removal of unwanted household items
All technicians are employed by us, are DBS checked, wear uniform, carry ID and drive company vans. We do not charge for assessments of work and customers are provided with a written quotation to accept prior to work commencing. We are registered with Trading Standards.
- Charge – subsidised rate of £15.00 ph plus VAT and cost of materials
- Hardship Fund – for those most in need to fund essential works.
- Warm at Home Service – FREE of charge to those eligible
- Child Home Safety project – FREE of charge to those eligible
- We also carry out works on behalf of partners across the county where other charges apply
Eligibility
Any one of the following:
- Age (50+)
- Disability or long-term conditions
- Low income (in receipt of means tested benefits)
- Other vulnerable due to being a victim/living in fear of crime
- Families with young children * (additional eligibility may be required for some services)

Delos Housing and Community Support Service
The service we provide is for adults with learning disabilities/difficulties and includes:
- Assessments that address physical, social, economic and mental wellbeing
- Housing related support -budgeting, debt management, claiming benefits, neighbourhood issues, home safety/security, home adaptations
- Befriending links, peer support and community connecting
- Developing independent life skills
- Health promotion (support for physical wellbeing),
- Support to access training, employment and volunteering opportunities, including job readiness and social skills.
Eligibility
- Adults with learning difficulties (18+ years)
- Live in Northamptonshire that rent or own their homes
- Are not normally eligible for statutory funding

Employment and Disability Service (EADS)
We exist to support people with a physical, sensory, mental health or learning disability move toward, gain and sustain paid employment through tailored support.
- You will be expected to do a least 8-16 hours each week of job search activity and will be required to meet with your Employment Development Officer at least fortnightly to discuss their progress, objectives and to update their individual action plan.
- Work placements are often undertaken as part of these supported employment programmes and will require additional commitment in terms of client hours.
Eligibility
To access our support you do not need to be in receipt of any benefits. To qualify you must require support due to a disability or health condition to gain and / or sustain paid employment of 16 hours+

- Our adapted transport will collect from Rothwell, Desborough and the local villages – Monday through to Friday. Collect from Kettering town area on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Collection from Market Harborough town area, Tuesday and Thursday. Pricing structure is available on request
- Meals on Wheels Service: We can offer meals on wheels to Rothwell and Desborough area, 365 days a year. Kettering area we can deliver meals Monday to Friday
- Bathing in hydrotherapy suite
- Community Support
Eligibility
Available to the elderly people and carers, people with disabilities and their carers who live in Desborough, Rothwell, Kettering, Stoke Albany, Rushton, Wilbarston and surrounding villages/areas.
These services will be normally provided to individuals who meet one or more of the following criteria:
- Disability, chronic sickness and/or dementia
- Require help to meet their basic physical, psychological or social needs
- Without these services their condition is likely to deteriorate
- Without these services the capacity of their carer’s to meet their needs will be damaged or may deteriorate
- Without these services the person may require residential/nursing care.

Kettering Mind
We are Kettering Mind, your local mental health charity. We are a registered charity affiliated to National Mind who are dedicated to supporting and empowering anyone experiencing a mental health problem, through a wide variety of services.
Drop in and visit us –
- Our Mixing Bowl Information and Refreshment Centre is a place where you can obtain information and support on mental health and wellbeing. If you need a chat or would like some information our staff are available 12pm-1pm. It also serves light refreshments.
- Crisis Cafés are available for anyone 18 years old or over in need who are finding themselves in a crisis or need support with their mental health. The cafes are facilitated by an NHFT mental health professional and Kettering Mind support workers. The Cafes provide support and safety to anyone, by offering coping mechanisms and management techniques to help reduce the risk of crisis. As well as offering support, professionals can also refer and direct you to further services if required. There is no need to call and book an appointment, simply drop in.

Supports people with Mental Health and Physical Disabilities to work through barriers to employment and continue to support for the first 2 years of employment
- Remploy works on the DWP program called Work Choice and Specialist Employment Services
- Use community’s services to help with customers’ barriers whatever they may be (ranging from confidence to addiction)
- Partner with disability confident employers. Although we are not a recruitment agency, most of the jobs we have are entry level.
- In Work Support Advisors work with customer and employer to ensure a correct approach to being brought into the business and an employer confident their new employee’s abilities as well as managing the new employee and their needs/adjustments

Green Patch (Kettering)
- The Green Patch site is run by a charity called Groundwork Northampton
- Short breaks service for disabled and special needs children between the ages of 5-17 years
- Offers an exciting and interactive experience making it a perfect place for children to relax, learn and have fun in a safe environment.
- Children and young people can expect to take part in activities such as feeding chickens and ducks, collecting eggs, growing vegetables, watering plants, art and crafts, nature hunts and lots more!

Saturday sessions – 9.30-12.30pm and 1.30- 4.30pm (£7 per session).

Stockburn Memorial Trust Fund

Stockburn Memorial Trust Fund
The Stockburn Memorial Trust Fund makes small grants to people who qualify (see below). The charity does not directly provide services. It provides grants or may purchase goods and services.
Individual grants are usually of £220 and may be awarded twice annually. There is no set limit for grants to organisations, each being considered on its merits. The trustees give preference to organisations seeking to provide new projects or to acquire additional equipment and are unlikely to fund running costs.

We can only help if all of these conditions apply to the person who will receive the money
- People resident in the Borough of Kettering
- AND who have a medical condition or disability
- AND who are in receipt of means tested benefits
- Organisations operating in the Borough of Kettering for the benefit of people meeting the criteria in paragraph 1 above.

- Friendly, supportive environment where people can make new friends and regain self-esteem and confidence whilst building a range of skills
- Key workers may suggest attending Teamwork as part of a care plan.
Eligibility
We work with vulnerable adults who feel that they may gain confidence and improve their life by being part of a friendly team.
